Maritza Guerrero was born in Newark, New Jersey to Dominican & Puerto Rican parents. She has been acting professionally for over 25 years, working in numerous voiceovers, commercials and industrials as well as episodic television. Her fluidity in English/Spanish as well as her talent and jovial personality allow her to flow seamlessly from one role to another. On her down time she enjoys reading, staying fit (bootcamp) as well as exercizing her comedy muscle by playing with friends at improvisational comedy. She can currently be seen as Councilwoman Isabel Barrera in seasons 3 and 4 of Queen Sugar on OWN.
