Simi Maurya is an Asian American creative, wordsmith, and storyteller. Her interests in movement arts stemmed from her South Asian roots at an early age. She trained in Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance form for seven years before expanding her training to Bollywood, Bhangra, Hip Hop, Jazz Funk, and contemporary dance forms.  Pushing the bounds of storytelling, Simi combined her love for dance and acting as a lead performer in Bollywood musicals that tackled real-life, emotional topics with a twist of comedy. In her pursuit to explore the stories of others, she volunteered as a host at her local community radio station, interviewing pillars of the community. Furthering her interests in dance, acting, and storytelling, she trained professionally at the Guthrie Theater, New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, Millennium Dance Studio, and Playground LA.
